The AkadeMix Jazz Trio is a New York City-inspired jazz ensemble and the only one of its kind in Kampala, Uganda. On May 4, 2024, the trio will bring to the local audiences the music of Chick Corea, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and other jazz composers from around the world whose music is under-represented and under-played in the region. The AkadeMix Jazz Trio is an eclectic blend of musicians: Carmela (piano/keyboards), Joshua (bass) and Enock (drums). Coming from different musical backgrounds, they come together as the AkadeMix Jazz Trio and bring you classic jazz standards, NYC style bebop, Brazilian samba and bossa nova and more. They are proud to be celebrating Jazz together with the international community on International Jazz Day.
