Franz Georg Pressler (†24 April 1927 – 29 March 1982) who became known as Fatty George was an Austrian clarinettist and jazz musician was one of the most important musical personalities of revival jazz in Europe, made swinging mainstream, jazz popular in Austria and created an unmistakable way of synthesising different jazz directions. Stylistically, he was initially influenced by Benny Goodman before he found his personal way of playing, which also reflected the moden jazz of Lee Konitz. In October 2005, the Fatty George Jazz Museum was opened in Essling where he had grown up. Museum is open throughout year. Eßlinger Jazzfest im Park on 31 August 2025.
