CANTA, NINA, CANTA by Joanna Maddox (USA) A journey through the life of the American singer, songwriter and pianist Nina Simone, who left a mark on jazz, blues, R&B and soul, as well as becoming an emblem of the struggle for equal rights. The American singer and actress Joanna Maddox is responsible for the interpretation of Nina in a tour of the particular versions of her vast repertoire. With Joanna Maddox (voice); Adrián Mastrocola (pianos, arrangements and direction); Hernán Liberman (guitar); Alfonso Santini (double bass) and Juan Merlo (drums). (A show selected by Jazzología to represent Cultural San Martín on International Jazz Day, sponsored by UNESCO and the Herbie Hancock Institute.

Audiovisual campaign in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile

Together with INAMU, National Institute of Music of Argentina, UNESCO Office in Montevideo is launching an audiovisual campaign that brings together some of the most outstanding artists of this genre in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile to enunciate the principles that constitute the spirit of jazz music. Joining their voices, they will highlight all those characteristics that make this music a valuable artistic and cultural expression that contributes to the construction of more inclusive societies.

Por tercera vez consecutiva el proyecto de Jazz Fractal, Celebra en la Ciudad de San Juan el Día Internacional del Jazz. Este año recibe dos invitados de lujo: desde Buenos Aires Tres Latin Jazz y desde Cuba Ibrahim Ferrer Jr. El evento se realizará en el Auditorio Juan Victoria, con entrada Gratuita y a Beneficio de Fundación CONIN que lucha por la erradicación de la desnutrición en Argentina. ### For the third time in a row, the Fractal Jazz project celebrates International Jazz Day in the City of San Juan. This year we receive two exceptional guests: from Buenos Aires Tres Latin Jazz and from Cuba Ibrahim Ferrer Jr. The event will be held at the Juan Victoria Auditorium, with Free admission and to the Benefit of the CONIN Foundation that fights for the eradication of malnutrition in Argentina.

In Tafí Viejo (Tucumán) we have been working in different events with the purpose of spreading jazz culture. "Tucuman Jazz" and "Festival Internacional de Jazz independiente" are two experience we organized, including the local proposal "Tafí Viejo Jazz". This year we want to add a celebration for the international jazz day including: a workshop about music jazz apretiation by Luis Conde (one of the most important music theoretician), a conference on the "Festival Internacional de Jazz Independiente" by his productor Leo Vera, plus a concert by well known artists Golden Shag, Coyuyaz and Garuffa Jazz Band.
