UNESCO International Jazz Day 2019 in Luanda

In 2019, in Angola, the UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office in Yaoundé, in collaboration with the American Schools of Angola, government of Angola, organizes a jazz concert on Tuesday, April 30, with the following program, and featuring artists of international renown:
The American Lili Haydn (violinist, winner of a Grammy Award)
the North American Mitchel Long (guitarist) and
Angolan Valdemar Bastos
Monday, April 29, the artists will visit school (s) or refugee centers,
refugees in Luanda; or the Lunda refugee camps in the town of Lóvua.
Tuesday, April 30, the artists will participate in a concert at the Luanda Naval Club.
o The show will start at 8 pm on April 30
o There will be a mobilization of funds in the gala concert. The funds raised
will be used for humanitarian and social works, half of which for the
education sector in Angola and the other half for the support of the victims of
recent cyclone in Mozambique.
o Along with Angolan and local dignitaries The personalities of UNESCO present in this ceremony are:
– Mr. Salah Khaled, Director of the UNESCO Regional and Multisectoral Office
in Yaounde and Representative in Central Africa
– Mr. Vincenzo Fazzino, Head of Office and Representative of UNESCO in
Libreville in Gabon and International Coordinator of the Culture of Peace Project.
