Bart Defoort and Victor Da Costa have been playing together regularly for over 20 years. With this project, they offer us their own compositions as well as personal arrangements of a number of standards. Their music is lively, touching and energising, with an atmosphere reminiscent of the hard-bop era of the ‘50s and ’60s.
Born in October 2021 in Brussels, the Swing Machine sounds performs with panache magnificent pieces by Duke Ellington, Johnny Hodges, Ben Webster, John Kirby, Count Basie, Clark Terry, Rex Stewart… With passion, they try to recreate the atmosphere of the smoky clubs of Kansas City, the formidable swing, and the luminous language of the great musicians of that time.
