The inaugural band featured South African Jazz legends like Rev Patrick Pasha, Retsi Pule, Selaelo Selota and Alan Webster who has contributed immensely to jazz education and development.

The Big Band is becoming a signature showcase in the annual Umtiza Calendar and will perform on 30th April 2025 at the EL Guild Theatre, joining the global jazz community in marking UNESCO’s International Jazz Day.

This year’s special concert is headlined by pianist, composer and educator, Andile Yenana, Singer Dumza Maswana and Khosi Tauzeni.
