And two other groups.

Japan Blue Note Tokyo Celebrates International Jazz Day

Celebrate International Jazz Day with Blue Note Tokyo All-Star Jazz Orchestra directed by Eric Miyashiro. Blue Note Tokyo All-Star Jazz Orchestra will be returning to their home ground, Blue Note Tokyo, after gaining rave reviews at Java Jazz Festival 2015 and the 48th Montreux Jazz Festival.

Japan Tokyo Jazz Joints Photo Exhibition

Tokyo Jazz Joints ( is a two-year long photo project led by photographer Philip Arneill and writer/broadcaster James Catchpole. To date they have visited over 90 old jazz cafes and bars throughout the Tokyo metro area, in an attempt to capture visually this hidden & dying world. The event on April 30th will be a photo exhibit & short talk on the project, with live jazz DJs.

Japan Collaboratet: A Love Supreme

An international quartet of musicians based in Tokyo are coming together to perform John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme Suite”. Featuring Brazilian Saxophone Player, Gustavo Anacleto; Japanese Pianist, Fumie Chiba; Canadian Bassist, Brent Nussey; and British Drummer, Tim Lake. The band will also be playing some music by Joe Henderson.
