The AkadeMix Jazz Trio is the only jazz group of its kind in Kampala, Uganda. On April 29, 2023, The AkadeMix Jazz Trio will be bringing to the local audiences the music of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Chick Corea and other Jazz artists and composers whose music has evaded live stage play and remained under-represented in the area. Since joining International Jazz Day in 2022, the Trio has played to sold-out audiences at each of their feature shows. The AkadeMix Jazz Trio is an eclectic blend of musicians - Carmela (piano/keyboards), Joshua (electric bass) and Enock (acoustic drums) - who look forward to joining IJD once again in bringing music lovers and listeners together through this inspiring artform.
