1) What does jazz music mean to you? To your community?

Jazz music means a lot to my community we even have jazz clubs where people dress up to go dance and socialize. On the 30th we will be celebrating memories of fallen jazz club members it’s going to be extra special.

2) Why are you celebrating International Jazz Day? Why is it important?

I celebrate International Jazz Day because I love jazz that’s the kind of music I grew up listening to. My sister played that everyday and although I had no choice of listening to anything else, I not only ended up enjoying it but most importantly now it brings back happy memories.

3) What would you like to see happen through this day – short term and long term?

What I want to see happen on the day is people having fun but more than anything I want to bridge the gap between the young and old because jazz is not just for older people it’s cultural.
